The Board of Directors of Hans Energy Company Ltd. (the “Company”) is pleased to announce that Mr Zhang Lei has been appointed as Chief Operating Officer of the Company with effect from 1 October 2006.

Mr Zhang Lei, aged 41, has over 15 years experience in petrochemical industry and is familiar with financial accounting policy and system of the PRC. Mr Zhang also has in-depth knowledge in large petrochemical project management. Prior to his appointment as COO of the Company, Mr Zhang had served China Petrochemical Corporation and held various key positions such as the chief financial officer of the Singapore branch, deputy general manager and chief financial officer of the Hong Kong branch.
